Community Newspapers Initiative (CNI) was established in 2014 as a groundbreaking initiative aimed at uniting South Africa’s black owned newspapers. We have publications all over South Africa, in Mpumalanga, Gauteng, KZN, Limpopo, North West, Northern Cape, Western Cape.

In our fourth year of successful operations, Cni boasts of a footprint of about  5 200 000 readers monthly per edition collectively making it the fastest growing black owned media company in the country.

WHO WE ARE

CNI South Africa is a community print & media company that was established by previously marginalized communities.  Our content is compiled by highly experienced journalists who are passionate about being part of the change in South Africa through media.

Our mission

To create employment for young people within the media industry. Our estimated growth is set to create over 1000 jobs in journalism, photography, sales, marketing, public relations, graphic & web design.

Cni believes in transparent journalism that exposes challenges faced by the community.  We write articles that embrace previously marginalized communities by sharing content that captures the imagery and thoughts of the people, reflecting the  everyday struggles and accomplishments of community members.

We provide readers with a sense of pride, identity and belonging.
