The Rural Development and land Reform in Witbank, took time to bid a farewell to Mr Harlord Sikhosana a former colleague, who has serviced his time with the department. The guest of Honour Mr Sikhosana who was accompanied by his Mother, siblings, his children and grandchildren were among of the guests that gathered at Protea Hotel Marriot, to celebrate Sikhosana’s employment journey.
During the event colleagues highlighted this type of gathering is very unusual,they normal meet in sad and painful times, at someone memorial service , this time around , happiness and appreciation was among the room, a farewell party or lunch is very rare.
Colleagues reminisced their time with Sikhosana.
Mr V.Mahlangu shared “ Here at the department, We used to call Sikhosana by the name Ace, if you ask for Harlord colleagues would be confused who is that, Ace is a football nickname, Sikhosana used to play soccer, when coming to work, I learnt a lot from you, still believe that your departure came too soon, The following qualities I learnt from you, Humbleness, be a people person and accommodative. Thank you for being a father figure to the staff, and the Sikhosana we are always grateful that you lent us your son, brother, father and grandfather.”
T.Mahari expressed:” Bra Ace always willing to assist, we all feel your departure was too soon. “
A.Mametja added” We never had an event like this, nice to acknowledge someone while they still alive, Sikosana was a very encourages Leader.”
M.Mahlahlela said “Sikhosana was always willing to listen and take someone input.”
S.Nkosi shared “ As we bid farewell to our colleague, we are forever grateful for your contributions in this department and the spirit of teamwork you always pushed for, it was a privilege to work you , Bra Ace.”
The man of moment, during his thank address shared “I would like to thank everyone, all things said today, mean a lot to me, with the support of the staff, I wouldn’t achieve all things mentioned. Am very grateful for the time I shared with you colleagues and you have created a friendly work environment, it’s nice to know I have friends in the workplace. Been lucky to work with people who clearly understand the duties of the department.”
